Overview
The JAMB Support Initiative is one of FECY Foundation’s key educational empowerment projects, designed to help bright and determined young people overcome one of the first financial hurdles to higher education — the cost of registering for the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examination.
For many secondary school graduates from low-income families, the inability to afford registration fees often means their academic journey ends before it truly begins. FECY Foundation saw this need and stepped in to bridge the gap — ensuring that no capable student misses out on university admission because of lack of funds.
This initiative is a lifeline for students with dreams of higher education but limited financial means, providing not just funds, but also guidance, mentorship, and hope.
Purpose
The JAMB Support Initiative was established to:

What We Do
- Identify Beneficiaries
Through partnerships with schools, community leaders, and local education boards, FECY identifies deserving students who show academic potential but lack the financial means to register for JAMB. - Provide Financial and Logistical Support
The foundation covers JAMB registration fees, passport photographs, and transport allowances for selected candidates. In some cases, additional support is provided for tutorial materials or post-JAMB guidance. - Mentorship and Orientation Sessions
Beneficiaries are guided through the registration process and attend short mentorship sessions where FECY volunteers educate them about career choices, university life, and personal discipline. - Follow-up and Academic Guidance
After exams, FECY maintains communication with beneficiaries — encouraging them to pursue admission actively and helping them access further support if needed through the University Support Scheme.
