Overview
The HMO Support Project is one of FECY Foundation’s most impactful healthcare initiatives — created to make quality medical care accessible to low-income individuals and families who often struggle to afford it. In many communities, people delay or forgo medical treatment because of cost. A simple illness can escalate into a life-threatening condition simply because help was financially out of reach.
FECY Foundation recognized this gap and responded with compassion — by sponsoring Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) plans for vulnerable people. Through this project, beneficiaries receive health insurance coverage that allows them to visit hospitals, get check-ups, and access treatment without financial stress. It’s a life-changing intervention that brings peace of mind, dignity, and protection to those who need it most.
Purpose
The HMO Support Project was established to:
- Provide affordable and reliable healthcare access to low-income individuals and families.
- Promote preventive healthcare through regular check-ups and early medical attention.
- Reduce medical emergencies and prevent avoidable deaths caused by lack of treatment.
- Support health equity by ensuring that everyone — regardless of income — can receive care.
This project reflects FECY’s belief that good health is not a privilege, but a human right that every person deserves.
What We Do
- Identify Beneficiaries
FECY partners with local leaders, health workers, and communities to identify individuals and families who are unable to afford healthcare but require consistent medical support. - Provide HMO Enrollments
Selected beneficiaries are enrolled into reputable Health Maintenance Organizations (HMOs) that cover essential healthcare services — including consultations, medications, and emergency care. - Monitor and Support Beneficiaries
The foundation maintains follow-up with beneficiaries to ensure they understand their coverage and make the most of the available services. - Health Education and Advocacy
Alongside the insurance support, FECY organizes awareness sessions on healthy living, hygiene, nutrition, and preventive healthcare — building knowledge that supports long-term wellness.
Impact
The HMO Support Project has transformed lives by removing the fear of illness-related financial hardship.
- Families now access hospitals confidently without worrying about medical bills.
- Preventive check-ups have helped detect and treat conditions early.
- The program has strengthened awareness about the importance of healthcare planning.
Sustainability
The project is sustained through:
- Donations and sponsorships from individuals and organizations passionate about healthcare equity.
- Partnerships with trusted HMO providers offering affordable coverage packages.
- Volunteer medical professionals who assist in health education and monitoring.
FECY ensures transparency by maintaining records of beneficiaries, renewal schedules, and feedback from healthcare providers.
Looking Ahead
FECY Foundation plans to expand the HMO Support Project into a wider Community Health Access Program, scaling impact across multiple communities.
Future plans include:
- Partnering with corporate sponsors to increase the number of beneficiaries annually.
- Introducing special coverage plans for children, widows, and elderly persons.
- Establishing a Health Emergency Fund for cases outside insurance coverage.
Through this project, FECY continues to restore smiles — not only by healing illnesses, but by removing the fear and uncertainty that often come with them.
“When access to healthcare is no longer a privilege, dignity and hope begin to heal the nation.”
